The Social Spot Marketplace
The Social Spot Marketplace is an offshoot of our beloved Pop-Up Markets, offering permanent vendor spaces year-round. Located beside the famous MacKay’s Ice Cream in Historic Downtown Cochrane, the Marketplace offers a permanent retail home for your locally created products.
We provide the space, the marketing, the staff to sell the products, and a vendor-accessible platform to track sales – you pay a rental fee with a small commission, provide the goods, and walk away with your sales. No hidden costs.

Looking to try out the shop for a day or the weekend? We decided to continue offering the opportunity for vendors to pop-up in store! A great way to see what the store is all about, or to simply reach a new demographic.

The Social Spot Marketplace is a permanent retail space where local artisans can showcase their locally created & inspired products.
How can I become a vendor at The Social Spot Marketplace?
Interested vendors can complete our application. Once submitted, your name will be added to our waiting list. We’ll reach out if a space becomes available for your business.
Where is The Social Spot Marketplace located?
We are located at 222 1st Street West, Cochrane in Historic Downtown, right beside the renowned Mackay’s Ice Cream.
What's the foot traffic like near the marketplace?
Mackay’s Ice Cream, situated beside us, attracts between 12,000 to 15,000 visitors per week during its peak months.
What are The Social Spot Marketplace hours?
Our hours are:
Mon – Sat: 10am – 6pm
Sun: 10am – 4pm
Who typically shops at The Social Spot Marketplace?
Our primary shoppers are women aged 25-65. However, we also attract a diverse range of visitors, especially from tourists.
What are the rental fees and what do they cover?
Vendors pay a shelf rental fee plus a small commission. This covers staffing, marketing (social media, website, newsletter), and all processing fees. Rates vary based on the size and type of shelf or space rented.
What are the dimensions of the vendor spaces?
We have four space options, and we work closely with vendors to find the best fit for their business. Please see vendor application for shelf options.
I'm a food vendor. Can I sell at the marketplace?
Yes, we welcome food vendors! However, it must be pre-packaged, low-risk foods. Please email us if you’re a food vendor and we can discuss. hello@thesocialspot.ca
What's the vendor agreement term?
All approved vendors sign an initial three-month Vendor Agreement. After that, the contract transitions to a month-to-month basis.
Is there any upfront payment or fees involved for vendors?
Approved vendors are required to pay two months’ rent upfront along with a one-time administrative fee. There is an option to pay for the initial three months up front and save 5%
